On Saturday 6th March, 2010 The Armstrong Hall Thornbury rung to the sound of brass band and choir as the Thornbury Castle Band and Dursley Male Voice Choir entertained the audience of Thornbury.
The band played a variety of music ranging from the traditional March of the Cobblers to an arrangement of Christine Aguilera’s Candyman. I have been told that the promotion basis of a band is based on the previous 3 years results. Whats the point system for the positions? And how does it work. Reason Im asking is that someone told me that if they come 3rd or lower they get relegated.

I have picked this out of a social networking website which should be a good topic of discussion
TRANSFER THE YORKSHIRE AREA TO SHEFFIELD CITY HALL:
This weekend demonstrated that Bradford St Georges Hall is not suitable for the Yorkshire Area Championship.
We propose to bring it the the vastly superior venue that is Sheffield City Hall.
It has better facilities all round.

Does anyone have a recording of Trombones to the Fore? |

We had just finished our practice at the welfare club last night and were having a drink in the bar when a well spoken gentleman came up to us asking if we had a recording of Trombones to the Fore. He explained that he had been a bassoon player for the army for 25 years. He said that he had searched far and wide for a recording and had contacted Frank Renton, but still had no luck.
